Corrosion Technician
This is an entry-level position -- will train under the direction of an experienced corrosion expert
Monitors corrosion rates throughout pipelines, plants and compressor stations.
Mitigates corrosion through corrosion inhibitor injection and cathodic protection.
Inspects exposed pipe in accordance with DOT regulations.
Coordinates metal thickness inspection program.
SCOPE
Reports to Construction Supervisor.
Most equipment is in sour gas service
Over 300 miles of pipelines
One gas processing plant
One condensate treating and stabilization plant
Compressors at six locations
QUALIFICATIONS
High school diploma or a GED
Certificate or AA degree in Petroleum Technology or related field a plus
Strong analytical skills
0-5 years of oilfield or midstream experience

RESPONSIBILITIES
Candidates will operate and perform maintenance on compressor packages, including overhaul and diagnosis of engines and compressors.
Experience with Ajax, Ariel, Caterpillar and Waukesha is required.
QUALIFICATIONS
High school diploma or a GED and 5+ years of related experience and/or training; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
A minimum of one year in a vocational/technical training or apprenticeship program is preferred.

Assures construction projects meet design and quality specifications.
Approves design changes, and drawing releases.
Assists in the training and startup of new equipment.
Assures projects are completed on time and under budget.
Assures MOC implemented for completed projects.
Prepares interim and completion project reports.
Monitors performance of project vendors.
Develops project cost and schedule estimates.
Provides technical input on bid evaluations and construction agreements.
Works with operations to develop and evaluate new projects.
Assesses project economic viability.
Evaluates existing facilities and develops plans for improvement and modification.
Maintains effective communication between vendors, operations, marketing, administration, and senior management.
Position will require frequent travel to company operating sites. Employee will frequently work outdoors in heat, cold, and precipitation. Employee will frequently be required to stand, walk, climb, bend, crouch, balance, reach, use hands, talk and hear. The employee will occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Vision abilities include close vision, distance vision, and depth perception. Hand eye coordination is necessary to operate computers and office equipment.
QUALIFICATIONSBachelor’s degree in Chemical or Mechanical Engineering preferred, but will also consider Construction Management, Electrical and Civil Engineering degrees
At least 10 years of experience in a related industry, such as midstream energy, refining, or chemicals
Preferred candidates will have at least 5 years experience in Project Engineering/Construction, and at least 5 years experience in operations
Should be “hands on”, a self-starter, and highly familiar with industry standards and practices and ES&H regulations
Proficient in MS Word, Excel, and Project. Professional Engineering license is a plus, but not required.

12+ years of experience in gas plant, refinery, or chemical plant operations and maintenance
5+ years of experience as a supervisor
